The system is currently set up to only process one subsidy approval per payer, as that is typically how subsidy approvals are issued. To one parent. Therefore, 2 parents should not be splitting a subsidy approval however if they are, here are options for you to consider:
1 – You invoice mom the full fee with her subsidy reduction, and they work out the 50/50 spilt on their own. (Ideal option for transparency to the province).
2 – You enter dad and mom as both having a subsidy approval and you alternate 2 services (mom as one payor and dad as one payor) with each their own subsidy approval. You cannot share 2 subsidies on the same service.
3 – If they are sharing the parent contribution and really should not be but if they want their own invoices, you can enter mom as 100 with the subsidy approval and then enter dad as a flat contribution for the daily amount.
In conclusion, the parents need to have 2 different services, and only one parent would have the subsidy. They should not be splitting and contribution. If they want to then one parent should pay, and they should deal with the split outside of the system.
